Case Study: Marilyn Monroe

Lets look at a recent case. Recently, a set of three X-rays images of Marilyn Monroe's chest taken during a 1954 hospital visit, was sold for US$45,000 at auction in Las Vegas.

We are not saying the image was stolen or there were any wrong doing here. But obviously, Marilyn Monroe could not have given permission for the x-ray images to be auctioned, could she?

What we want to highlight here is how a patient’s information can be misused, even if it is more than half a century later.
